thx for everyone came and support our "macroy" at ivan the kozak on last sat !!!
was not busy but kenny and kiyo did really impressive set.
i played as warming up and mixed up 90's classic hiphop, japanese underground hiphop, funk, a few slow motion disco... was fun.

btw, i'd like to say some bullshit.
there were too many comment when i posted "macroy" flier and some ppl might be pissed with too many notification popping up like everyday.
and almost none of them show up to party for real... it's really sad and i felt disappointed with it.
at least few ppl really supported and witness what we did but we want frd's support at party not on internet !!!!!!!
so now, i'd like to get some idea for promotion and invitation which work for real.
party never happen on screen of your laptop !!! (but for laptop djs... yes)

and now "macroy" is coming back soon as a new monthly wednesday night program at yumla.
wed.14.april. at yumla

start from 9pm onward and myself and jumbo a.k.a. kiyo will keep our shit up til 1am.
no cover charge, $40 standard drink & $50 pints all night long.

have you heard what is "black music" ?!?!
in japan, it's known as public and ppl believe it's like soul, funk, disco, rare groove...mostly funky music played by black ppl or influenced with them.
but i just found this word could be used by japs only....
dang, i really hate jenglish culture (japanese-english) taught us everything wrong.
pronounce, meaning... it's kinda shame.

so the truth is "black music" is kinda racial word and sounds very impolite for black ppl.
of coz musically, we totally respect them but it's still bad.
so we may better say "soulful music" or "funky music".... but actually it also sounds a bit cheesy.
coz there are so many ppl use this words for music sounds not soulful or funky at all.

a word is hard to use, seriously....
then what should we do?!

DJ Kennymann (Swagga Production)

Kenny is one of the original members of Australia’s turntablist/DJ crew Terntable Jediz. He is well recognized amongst friends and peers for his deep-rooted passion for beats and breaks.
In the past decade, Kenny had supported international artists including A Trak and Infamous (The Allies, USA), Icy Ice (World Famous Beat Junkies, USA), The Scratch Perverts (UK), DSK (China), Wordy (China) and DJ Koga (JPN) amongst many others.
Since his return to Hong Kong in 2004, Kenny continued to develop his own profile within the local underground music circuit, pushing the classic sounds of 80s - 90s hip-hop and r&b, and his true passion of jazz, funk, soul, disco, rock, latin and afro beats.
2008 onwards had seen Kenny became more active with local underground club parties, featured as guest DJs for locally respected promoters and organizers including HEAVY, Fdotgov, Artist Events Management, Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy etc. Upcoming projects include his recent affiliation with Swagga Production’s G&G Nights as resident DJ/ promoter, which will see the coming of more events and parties in Hong Kong focusing on bringing quality soulful music.


DJ Jumbo a.k.a. Kiyo

DJ Kiyo as known as DJ Jumbo is a Hong Kong-based DJ hailing from Kyoto, Japan.
Kiyo has mad knowledge of classic funk and soul sounds that easily mesh with what house party favorites will get the dance floor poppin’.
His style is kickin’ old school jams with seamless scratch cuts and tight turntable skills that should please anyone searching for a high-energy, danceable jam.
Kiyo had been spinning since 1999, stating his influences were not only from many of the overseas idols such as Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, and DJ Format, but more so from the many local pioneers such as A.Y.B. Force, Ulticut Ups!, Downwell 79’s and many other underground talents from Japan.
2003, Kiyo connected with DJ / producer / label founder Bull Jun (Flat Rock Records, NYC), which later on gave him the opportunity to release his debut and now highly sought after mixtape named “Funky Code” as DJ Jumbo in 2005 – a true reflection of Kiyo’s passion towards classic hip-hop, funk, soul and heavyweight beats.

busy 2weeks

was really hardcore weekend again.


djing at armani bar on thu 7-11pm, then went to push at the ashtray.
met a nice guy sam from london and we talked about music a lot.
really many impressive topics and play each favorite tune, nice.
it made me dreaming to go to plastic people.


was tough on fri, kiyo got basketball tournament then djing at adidas from 7-930pm then jump into cab to go to djing at whotel from 10pm-1am.
finished playing and walked to jordan to grab some food then went back to central with hide.
kept calling kazu and my big bro, dj ta-shi's frds but never reached.
almost gave up then had some shots at club97 and moved to yumla.
chili & beer same as usual then talked to frds a lot.

also finally confirmed asian force in hong kong "AFHK" at yumla on 7&8.May.
4djs will come from fukuoka to blast all of techno addicted motherfuckers in the kong.

back. after yumla, finally i found my mobile was just fucked and got many sms from ppl.
i missed guys from japan and found kazu was still at billion club.

no place to go after that but guys kept talking til late in morning.
finally no dimsum, no tsui wah and no mcdonald, went home by mtr, shit...8:30am...


sat, woke up 4pmand left to work in 2hrs.
finished adidas at 10pm then dinner by myself.
joined kiyo just came back from guangzhou then went to bassment by cab.
finally finished party late and couldn't make soul heaven at finds, vivian's bday at yumla, todd bodine at space.... even more ltj bukem was in macau.
what a busy night but i wasn't satisfied with my set at all.... need to refresh myself.


wanted to sleep til late but got meeting then up early today.
and had a lil chill at my place with yui and talking about our "macroy" vol.2 is coming end of this month sat.27.march at ivan the kozak.
